Littledale Suffolks
These 3/4 and 7/8 English Suffolk Terminal Sire
Rams have been bred from top quality semen imported from the
English Suffolk Supersire Scheme.
We first used semen on Scotch Mules to produce ½ English
Suffloks. These lambs would have been market lambs, but we
selected the lambs with the strongest Suffolk traits for
further breeding. In subsequent breeding we used three distinct
lines of semen on the ½ Suffolk ewes to produce the 3/4 and 7/8
English rams that we are now offering for sale.
These Littledale Suffolks have inherited the hardiness of the
hill sheep and are able to withstand the Wisconsin climate
without any special housing or handling. They are maintained on
grass and consistently sire twin market lambs that thrive and
grow on mother’s milk and grass only. The resultant carcass is
lean, fine grained and tender.
The Mule sheep that we produce are identical to the premier
commercial ewe that is produced in the UK. Mules represent over
50% of the commercial flock in the UK and are proven to produce
twin lambs for the market on mothers’ milk and grass.
Farm Fresh Superior Market Lamb
We produce farm fresh lean lamb, naturally
raised on grassland. These lambs are produced by our Scotch and
Cheviot Mules and are sired by our Littledale Suffolk Terminal
Sire. Our lambs are specially bred for their tender, tasty
flavor and low levels of fatness. The lambs average 75lbs to
90lbs.
We deliver lambs to Richland Locker in Richland Center,
Wisconsin for your personal processing instructions during the
month of October. Direct from the farm price is $1.30 per lb
live weight. $50 deposit for whole lamb and $25 deposit for
half lamb. Supply is limited and orders should be made before
July 25, 2008. Contact us for an order form.
Scottish Blackface Breeders Union
Littledale is the principal founder of the SBBU
which has been organised to promote the Scottish Blackface
breed and to educate producers about the importance and
significance of this premier hill breed. For more information
